ciara lennon

All through her life Ciara has had an impulse for creating objects and an insatiable desire for adornment. Following a path through architecture, Ciara made a decision to pursue these passions. She began her artistic journey at Grennan Mill Craft School, Kilkenny specialising in textiles and metalwork. Intrigued by the qualities of precious metal she chose to further her studies in metalwork, completing a degree in the Uk in 2005, then focusing her practice on jewellery using metal and textiles.

Colour plays an essential role in her personal means of expression and has the ability to excite a variety of responses. Through creating colourful jewellery Ciara believes that she can bring positive feelings and energy to the wearer and the viewer. Inspired by vivid colours, materials and surface decoration, she develops her designs through sketching and experimenting with raw materials. Her most recent work explores combinations of textured silver, embroidered threads and transparent resin enamel. Currently Ciara is an artist in residence at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Berkshire, Uk, where she tutors jewellery courses, works on commissions and develops her own collections.
